Volero defeated the Romanian titleholders 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-9) and with 13 points became one of the best second-ranked teams in the pool stage.
Alexandra Lazić led the purple girls with 19 points followed by Ana Bjelica who scored 13 points while Nneka Obiamaka Onyejekwe was the best in the Romanian team with 10 points.
In the second match of Pool A, Developres SkyRes Rzeszow outplayed ASPTT Mulhouse VB with 3-1 (25-23, 25-14, 23-25, 25-17) and finished this year’s Champions League with 2 wins and 6 points. In the match, there were three players who scored over twenty points: Helene Rousseaux (27) and Adela Helić (22) for Rzeszow and Hayley Spelman (26) for the French team.
