Maritza defend trophy in Bulgarian Women’s Cup as they beat gold medal record holders Levski in finals

Maritza Plovdiv secured themselves the first trophy this season.

In the Bulgarian Women’s Cup final, Maritza beat record holders in the number of trophies in the tournament Levski Sofia (27-time winners) by a 3-1 (23-25, 16-25, 26-24, 25-20). Thus, Maritza won a back-to-back gold medal in the national Cup, fourth overall.

Desislava Nikolova topped Maritza with 19 points (4 aces) while Monika Krasteva made 23 points for Levski in the match that lasted 102 minutes and was held in front of packed stands in the city of Stara Zagora.
