TJ Slávia Svidník was the last side to progress to the playoff semifinals of Extraliga. The title favorites No.4 needed three games (2-1 in series) to eliminate the fifth-seed VK KDS Šport Košice in the quarterfinals – 3-1 in Game 3, partially 23-25, 25-18, 15-25, 25-15, 15-10.
The Pole Łukasz Pietrzak topped Slávia with 21 points (4 kill blocks). Marcel Lux made 74% reception (27 digs, 4 errors). Miroslav Jakubov scored 18 points (3 aces, 2 kill blocks) for KDS Šport. Patrik Lamanec contributed with 4 kill blocks, while Marián Vitko made 83% reception (29 digs, 1 error).
Slávia will face No.1 VK Prievidza in the best-of-five semifinals. No.2 VKP Bystrina SPU Nitra and No.3 VK MIRAD PU Prešov will play the other semifinal.
