With five stuff blocks and a total of 14 points, Ardo Kreek was the brightest of a group of stars that showed Estonia the way to the first place while opposite Oliver Venno fired three aces and completed a full score of 12 points.
As for Spain, Andres J. Villena Rodriguez completed 13 spikes, leading the charts of a team that just couldn’t handle the high offensive force of their rival.
Captain Kert Toobal said after the match: “Our teamwork was the key. We played a clever game, using our heads and keeping the ball in play.” And he completed: “This is a big day for Estonian volleyball.”
The winners of Group 3 final will advance to Group 2 for the next year’s edition of the FIVB World League.
In the match for the third place Germany defeated the host Mexico 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 26-24). Simon Hirsch was the top scorer of the match with 16 points
