The Coronavirus puts society and the Bundesliga volleyball in a situation they've never seen before. The Volleyball Bundesliga (VBL) made a decision regarding the 2019/2020 season. After an intense exchange with all Bundesliga clubs, the VBL board on Thursday night decided to end the season in the Bundesliga for men and women with immediate effect.

The immediate end of the season also means that there will be no German women’s and men’s volleyball champions in the 2019/20 season. In addition, the board decided that there will be no relegations from the 1st Bundesliga due to the current situation. A regulation will decide on the final ranking in the table and the associated allocation of starting places in the European Cup, which is now being worked out for all leagues together with the German Volleyball Association (DVV).
