Strange things happen in German Volleyball Bundesliga in both competitions…

Something that has never happened before in the history of Bundesliga will occur in the upcoming Men’s and Women’s playoffs – TSV Herrsching and the Ladies in Black Aachen plan to play playoff home games outside Germany!

As for Herrsching – it’s done deal. They will play United Volleys Rheinmain in the quarter-finals in Innsbruck, in neighboring country Austria, on March 22. Bundesliga does not oppose to this since “Innsbruck University Sports Center” fulfills all necessary conditions set by the German Volleyball League (VBL). Why Innsbruck? Because Herrsching cherish close friendship with Innsbruck-based team Hypo Tyrol. Interestingly, both teams will be on the floor on March 22. Firstly, Hypo Tirol will face SG Raiffeisen Waldviertel in the semifinals of the Austrian Bundesliga playoffs at 17:30 (C. E. T.). Then, Herrsching will play United Volleys at 20:00.

The Ladies in Black Aachen also have a similar idea. If they beat Köpenicker SC in Bundesliga pre-playoffs, they will also move into neighborhood as they want to play the home games of the quarter-finals in the Belgian city of Maaseik.
