This game should have been played 20 days ago, however the host and the police could not agree about the measures of security, so the big derby was delayed several times. Finally, when the things were finally settled, AEK was allowed to host Panathinaikos, and home fans filled the gym to the last spot.
Fans of AEK really created amazing atmosphere, but unfortunately for them, PAO was just too strong this time – 3-0 (25:18, 25:13, 25:21). The greens triumphed after just three sets and continued battle for the top spot in the regular season.
