After managing to come back from a one-set deficit, Perugia beat big rivals Trentino in Round 6 of the 2020/21 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season and remained in command of the competition with 6-0 and 18 points. Perugia didn’t only bounce back from losing the opening set but also from trailing 18-13 in the fourth set. Cuban-Polish Wilfredo León top-scored Perugia with 18 points (4 aces), while Roberto Russo set up 4 blocks. As for Trentino, the Dutchman Nimir Abdel-Aziz tallied 24 points.
Leo Shoes Modena (Serbian Nemanja Petrić 16 points, German Moritz Karlitzek 4 aces) inflicted the third defeat in a row to Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza.
Top Volley Cisterna (Canadian Arthur Szwarc 20 points) stunned Vero Volley Monza (3-1) and recorded the first win in the league.
Allianz Milano (Frenchman Jean Patry 19 points, Slovenian Jan Kozamernik 4 blocks) noted the third successive win as they downed NBV Verona (third defeat in a row).
Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia (Frenchman Thibault Rossard 25 points) still have the momentum, surpassing Consar Ravenna in the tie-break and prolonging the series of victories to 4.
Let’s not forget Cucine Lube Civitanova. Pushed by Osmany Juantorena (14 points), they wrecked Kioene Padova and kept their invincibility in the competition (6-0).
