The 12th round of the 2020/21 Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship brought a ‘classic’ between the European and world club champions, Igor Gorgonzola Novara and Imoco Volley Conegliano, respectively. However, it turned out to be ‘classic’ just on paper.

The leaders Imoco Volley Conegliano stayed on the winning path in the 2020/21 Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile regular season. They scored 11th consecutive victory (11 of 11), beating second-placed Igor Gorgonzola Novara in the big match of Round 12 with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-16).

The club world champions played without injured Miriam Sylla and Raphaela Folie but, as usual, they relied on the ‘heavy’ arm of Paola Egonu, who was the best scorer of the match with 21 points. There were no players in double digits on the losing side.
