Heynen no longer enjoys the trust of the controversial Perugia President Gino Sirci and no matter the results Belgian expert will achieve with the club until the end of the season, this won’t change.
Italian media reported that the head of the ’Block Devils’ recently contacted Ferdinando De Giorgi to take over the helm. An expert, who parted ways with Cucine Lube Civitanova at the end of February, is also in the plans of the Italian federation (FIPAV) to take over the bench of the men’s national team after the Tokyo Olympics. Because of that, Sirci received De Giorgi’s “no“ but in case FIPAV allows coaches under the contract with the federation to command clubs as well, the collaboration between De Giorgi and Perugia is likely going to be agreed upon.
