“After 21 years in league I would like to thank to the world of volleyball for the emotions and experiences for which I live.
It is time now to say goodbye to that world in which I was involved in all these years.
The moment I chose Forli I knew it would not be easy, but today the company, showing seriousness, has decided, despite the difficult economic activity to continue promoting young players in B2. I still decided to stay here, working to rebuild this team and also for the desire to stay close to my family.
They were always by my side and I think it is time that I be by their side.
Choosing Forli means a dual role, that of an spotsman and a new responsibility in marketing.
At this point I take this opportunity to send greetings and thanks to all the teams where I played, Ravenna, Ferrara, Rome, Palermo, Modena, Piacenza, Perugia, Forli, and those teams with which I have had challenges.
And I also thank all the fans of volleyball which with applauses and cheering have helped me to grow as a sportsman and a person.
I would also thank the Italian National Team, that granted me the great honor to wear the blue jersey and to represent my country in the world.
The reminder to all, demonstrating the importance of bringing the name of Italy in the world: in 1999, at the airport in Argentina, we approached an old man born in Italy who had built his life in Argentina. He told us that he had come to say goodbye because his family was in Argentina, but his heart is in Italy, his homeland.
This anecdote says more than a thousand victories about the value of wearing the blue shirt.
Greetings to all managers, coaches, journalists and all those spotsmen who were my teammates and all who are part of this wonderful world in which I was lucky enough to create reports in these 21 years.
I started my career with 15 years, I left my father Gino, my mother Luciana and my sister Amber. Today I choose to stay with Federica and my 4 children. Thank you all for always been close to me.”
