A.S. Volley Lube announces the return of the “The Tzar”. Ivan Zaytsev, captain of the Italian national team, returned to Cucine Lube Civitanova.
Zaytsev returns to Lube after 7 seasons in which he wore the jerseys of Kuzbass Kemerovo, Dinamo Moscow, Al Arabi SC, Sir Safety Perugia and Leo Shoes Modena. Charismatic and powerful, over the years Ivan has changed teams and roles always remaining a protagonist at the highest levels.
During his club career, “The Tzar” won the Italian Championship and Italian Super Cup twice each and CEV Cup, Italian Cup, and Emir Cup once each. As a member of the Italy National Team, in which he serves as a captain, Zaytsev won eight medals.
Individually, he was awarded MVP of the Italian Championship, Best Server and Best Opposite Spiker of the CEV EuroVolley, and Best Outside Spiker of the CEV Champions League and FIVB Volleyball Nations League – once each.
