Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza battle for the continuity of wins in the 2022-23 SuperLega Credem Banca and home-court advantage in the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup (the top 8 teams in the standings before the new year will play the cup knockout stage). The 3-1 victory on the road against Pallavolo Padova in Round 11 pushed Lorenzo Bernardi’s guys to fourth place for now. One of the projected Scudetto favorites recorded only the sixth win in SuperLega.
Against third-from-behind Padova, Piacenza was led by Cuban-Brazilian Yoandy Leal (18 points). His teammate from the ’Seleção’, Ricardo Lucarelli, served 4 aces. Serb Dušan Petković scored 20 points for Padova.
