In what was initially seen as a straightforward transfer, the move of Slovenian volleyball prospect Nik Mujanović from Calcit Kamnik to Italian club Vero Volley Monza has hit unforeseen obstacles. Reports from Slovenia indicate that Mujanović, who remains under contract with Calcit Kamnik, is currently unable to secure a transfer to the Italian team. This development comes amidst Calcit Kamnik’s strong performance this season, where they have not dropped a single set in official matches and are vying for the championship title, currently held by ACH Volley Ljubljana.

Mujanović, a pivotal player for Calcit Kamnik, finds himself in the center of this transfer saga. Despite the club’s reluctance to lose such a key player, they have expressed willingness to engage in discussions about his future. Meanwhile, Vero Volley Monza, having recently ended their cooperation with French opposite Ibrahim Lawani. There is speculation that Monza might consider bringing back Giullio Sabbi from Bulgaria’s Hebar if the transfer of Mujanović doesn’t materialize.

The situation intensified after a letter from Mujanović’s agent claimed the player had a unilateral contract with Calcit Kamnik, thereby nullifying any obligations. Contradicting this claim, Calcit Kamnik insists that Mujanović’s contract, valid until 2025, remains binding. The club, surprised by the agent’s letter, stands firm on Mujanović’s importance to the team and suggests that any legal disputes be settled in court. Amidst these developments, there’s growing speculation about Mujanović’s potential move abroad, adding another layer to this unfolding transfer drama.
