Diatec Trentino caused a lot of damage to indisposed visitors Sir Safety Conad Perugia in a derby of 14th Round of Serie A1 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-18).

Every set was a fierce battle, but with Italian champions always being more focused in key moments. Trentino’s fans greeted their former player Emanuele Birarelli with huge appaluse. It was the first comeback of Perugia’s player to Trento after eight years.

In Set 1, Trentino made key gap at 11-8 and, despite allowing Perugia to come close (14-13), went ahead again (20-16).

Set 2 was very competitive as well with guests making opening gap (4-2). Trentino accelerated 10-8, Perugia had a huge chance to prevail at 20-20 but failed to convert it since the hosts reached 22-20.

Perugia had major oppostunity in Set 3 after gaining 5-2. Trentino equalized 7-7 and took full initiative until the end (14-11, 18-14).

The Greek Mitar Đurić scored 15 points in Trentino, while Serbian Aleksandar Atanasijević collected 14 in Perugia
