Piacenza achieved their first win in Serie A1 last weekend but club’s CEO stated that they are still upset with Italian Volleyball Federation due to its negative decision (or rather, the lack of decision) on Piacenza’s request for changing of sports nationality of Cuban Leonel Marshall.

“Given that after a month the situation has not been resolved, a few days ago I directly spoke to Carlo Magri (President of Italian VF), asking for an explanation. I must say that my impression was not good. The President, in addition to not giving us concrete answers, also expressed judgments on our team that I did not like. His comment was not nice, especially to those who saved the volleyball in Piacenza and are working to bring the team back to high levels,” Roberto Pighi, Piacenza CEO, said.

“We are now considering the possibility of taking legal action. The issue is delicate and we know it well, but we believe it is important to defend the rights of the player and the team,” he added.

The Marshall case, therefore, remains open…
