Young Italian expert Alessandro Beltrami took over command of currently sixth-placed team in Italian league from Mauro Chiappafreddo after club made a three-game losing streak.
A 35-year-old Beltrami began the season in Slovenia, leading Women’s national champions Calcit Ljubljana, but left them on his own free will due to club’s financial problems. At the moment Beltrami departed, Calcit held leadership in the standings.
Scandicci will be his fifth team to coach in home country in top division, winning CEV Cup with Igor Gorgonzola Novara, in 2009. Beltrami also has experience in the national team level, being Giovanni Guidetti’s assistant in German Women’s NT.
