“In the first set we didn’t perform well, because we were under some kind of pressure to give the fans the performance they want. It was a battle I expected, so I asked the guys to stay together and to succeed. I’m happy for this victory, because the team grew up during the game and that was very positive note of this day,” says Giampaolo Medei.
“Certainly, I was expecting such a difficult game. Modena is definitely stronger compared to the last season. In the first set we didn’t play our game, commiting a lot of mistakes. However, after this set, we came out as much better team and that was a good win for us,” adds Tsvetan Sokolov.
“We had a very difficult first set, where Modena played very well in the attack and service. We started playing much better as of the second set. We still need to work but I’m sure that in the final we will be able to see progress already. Meanwhile, there remains the satisfaction of beating a tough team like Modena,” Jenia Grebennikov says.
