Under the leadership of Joel Banks, the Finnish men’s volleyball team will launch a two-year project towards the 2021 European Championships. Head Coach Joel Banks’s contract, signed in the spring of 2019, was signed for a period of 2.5 years and had the option of mutual termination after the European Championships. Both sides, the Volleyball Federation and Joel Banks, have shown their commitment to continue their cooperation.
“As a new coach, Banks got into a challenging situation in the spring. Although the team had some defeats and difficulties in the beginning, working with the team was uncompromising all summer and the results were reflected in the past European Championship, where we had a well-managed and tactically well-organised team.”, says Seppo Siika-aho, CEO of Finnish Volleyball Association.
Joel Banks says it was an honor to work with the Finnish national team last summer.
“I look forward to continuing our collaboration in the next two years towards the 2021 European Championships,” Banks says.
