As everybody knows, the Tokyo Olympic Games that were originally scheduled to start this summer were postponed for 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, Yoshirō Mori, the President of the Tokyo Olympics Organizing Committee, said that the event in the Japanese capital will hardly likely be held if the current health situation with the spread of the virus remains unchanged. However, John Coates, the second-ranked official in the IOC and also the chairman of its Coordination Commission for the Tokyo Olympics, has given huge hope to the sports enthusiasts.

“It will take place with or without COVID. The games will start on July 23 next year,” said Coates.
