The Toray Arrows put an end to a winning streak of the titleholders, the JT Marvelous, in Round 11 of the 2020/21 Japanese Women’s V.League Division1 regular season, and extended their own: 3-1 (25-22, 25-27, 25-18, 25-17). Actually, the Ōtsu based team is still undefeated, adding the 11th victory in as many games.
Slovakian-Azerbaijani Jana Kulan tallied 26 points and was the most deserving player for getting Toray more isolated at the top of the charts and ending the Marvelous’ seven-game run.
The Denso Airybees took advantage of the Marvelous’ defeat. Beating the Saitama Ageo Medics (3-0), thanks to Minami Nakamoto (16 points), the Nishio team reached third place in the standings and came to a point from the reigning champions.
