In front of 5100 home spectators Korea needed two hours to beat Japan and celebrate victory in the Asian derby. Japan seemed to have trouble maintaining the teamwork as they committed many critical errors. But after losing second sets, their play got better winning the third set.

Korean ace attacker Park Chul-Woo played strong, and left attacker Moon Sung-Min scored some critical points. However, Moon suffered from knee injury in set 3 and has been substituted by Jeon Kwang-In.

But here comes the dramatic moment of the game. Moon’s substitute Jeon’s spike penetrated Japanese blockers and Korea could maintain the winning streak. Also, middle blocker Park Sang-Ha and Shin Yung-Suk recorded remarkable blocking, and co-worked quick attacks with the setter Han Sun-Soo.

The second match between this two teams will be held again at 05:00 GTM in Hwasung on Sunday June 2.
