Belarus has got the right edge after scoring a 3:0 home win this past weekend in Mogilev but the home side remains confident they can exploit the home advantage to vie for the golden set. The winner of this double clash will join the final round of the Championship to be co-hosted by Germany and Switzerland through September 6-14 and namely preliminary Pool C which also features Russia, Azerbaijan, and Croatia.
“We played really bad in Belarus and our opponents were better in every aspect of the game” Slovak head coach Miroslav Cada says. “However, I think we still have a fair chance to advance to the final round. We won’t give in beforehand and we will be playing our best before our fans” he stresses after confirming that the roster hasn’t changed from the previous fixture.
“Our goal is to win the match and go for the golden set” Slovak team captain Solange Pereira Soares adds. “Our morale is high and we had quite some time to clean up our minds with a long journey back from Belarus. I am confident that we can play better”.
“We can even win in four or five sets and still get the chance to play the golden set” wing-spiker Miroslava Kuciakova points out. “The first match was a slap on our face and we need to wake up”.
