GP F6: Top six teams clashing in Sapporo

With the top six teams from the preliminary rounds gathering here in Sapporo, the best coaches in the world said at the press conference Tuesday afternoon that they felt honored to compete in the elite women‘s volleyball tournament of the World Grand Prix Finals, which is to kick off here on Wednesday.

Brazil coach Jose Guimaraes: I am very glad to be here again in Sapporo. Our team is in shape and we know it’s a very important tournament. We can play against these tough teams and learn and improve for the future. We have seven Olympic champions with us and the other players are young. It’s the transmission time of our team and every team is in the same situation. So it’s important for the young players to play hard matches and play the best teams in the world.

China coach Lang Ping: We are very happy to make the final round. We also have some young players on the team and it will be a great opportunity for us to collect experience and improve the team work. It’s a great chance to meet great teams and we have top three teams from the London Olympic Games here in Sapporo. Hopefully we’ll have great performance here.

About Zhu Ting: She is very talented and we would like use her at this tournament. Hopefully she can play her best and work well with the teammates and we are looking forward to seeing her improvement.

Italy coach Marco Mencarelli: It’s an honor to be part of the final round. I am very happy to be sitting here with the top teams in the world. This is part of the history in the volleyball world so that I am very happy and emotional to be seated here. Our target is to get experience and prepare for the European Championships.

Japan coach Masayoshi Manabe: Our players are very young and we’re happy to compete with the top five teams in the world and we will try to do our best.

About Otake: She will learn a lot from this tournament playing against the best teams in the world.

Serbia coach Zoran Terzic: We are very proud to play in the final round and we’ll try our best. Our team is in good shape and after this tournament there will be the European Championships. It’s very important and we need to think a lot about this.

USA coach Karch Kiraly: There is nothing better than to face the best teams on our planet and our team is very pleased to earn the right to play the best teams, the best athletes and the best coaches and it will be great experience for us.
