The 2021 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship final between Wisconsin and Nebraska was the U.S. record-breaker.
The Wisconsin Badgers defeated Nebraska Cornhuskers in a memorable five-set fight that lasted more than three hours in front of 18,755 spectators at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. That is the largest crowd that ever attended a women’s college match in NCAA history!
The previous record was 18,516 spectators in the Nebraska vs Florida encounter in Kanzas City, Missouri. That counted as the world record until 20,565 spectators showed to observe the CEV Women’s EuroVolley 2021 gold medal encounter between the hosts Serbia and Italy in Belgrade.
