The Croatian women’s U19 volleyball team defeated the Swedish team 3:1 (25:14, 15:25, 25:10, 25:16) and qualified to the European Championship, which will take place from August 27 until September 4, 2022 in Skopje. Our volleyball players first deservedly overcame the Norwegian team, and then determined their departure to the biggest European competition by beating Sweden in three of the four sets played.
“Congratulations to the girls who did a fantastic job in this tournament. I think we have justified the role of favorites which is not easy. I think that they can really be a role model for all other generations how to work, live and behave in the national team. We deservedly go to the European Championship.”– said the selector of the women’s U19 national team of Croatia Sasa Ivanisevic.

The men’s U20 volleyball team did not manage to overcome the strong team of Belgium, so unfortunately they did not win the possibility of additional qualifications for the European Championship. They started their qualifying tournament with a great victory against Hungary, followed by a defeat by a stronger Sweden and finally a calm and strong Belgium, which beat them 3:0 (25:17, 25:20, 25:16).
“First of all, I want to congratulate the players on their courage and the great fight they showed throughout the tournament. This is one very promising generation that definitely deserves our attention at all times. They are great workers, they do their best both in training and in matches. It is a pleasure to work with the young generation that is so eager for progress, eager for new challenges and new victories! I’m sure these guys will leave a mark and we’ll hear a lot more about them. What also makes me happy is the fact that we have an excellent staff for the future senior national team. And last but not least, I want to thank the wonderful audience that was with us and encouraged us in all matches.”– said the selector of the junior national team Tomislav Coskovic.
