ACH Volley Ljubljana emerged victorious against Krka from Novo Mesto in the decisive third match of the playoff quarterfinals, clinching a 3-0 win (25-11, 25-19, 27-25) to secure their spot in the semifinals of the Slovenian championship. This win came after Calcit Volley, i-Vent Maribor, and Panvita Pomgrad had already made their way into the top four, leaving ACH Volley, the top team of the regular season, to prove their mettle.
The match, held in Tivoli, saw ACH Volley dominate from the start, quickly gaining a significant lead in the first set, punctuated by Klemen Šen’s ace. Despite a stronger showing from Krka in the subsequent sets, ACH Volley maintained control, with Šen closing the second set in their favor as well.
The final set presented a nail-biting scenario, with Krka initially leading and putting the title defenders under pressure. However, ACH Volley managed a comeback, tying the score and eventually winning the set and match on their second match point, demonstrating their resilience and championship mettle.
