The Serbian national team has been striving for an Olympic return for over a decade, missing out on the Rio and Tokyo Games. With a clear goal of competing in Paris 2024, veterans like Atanasijević, Uros Kovačević, and Marko Podraščanin aim to conclude their international careers on a high note.

Atanasijević emphasized the significance of this final opportunity, reflecting on his 15-year tenure with the team. He expressed gratitude for the journey and the camaraderie shared with his teammates.
