Just like the first one, the second game of the third day of the Montreux Volley Masters was a death battle between two European powers, which wrestled each other for four sets (25-20, 23-25, 25-17, 25-22).

The famous tournament on the Riviera Vaudoise, saw, today, two extremely physically strong teams facing each other on the court of the Pierrier Sports Hall. Since the beginning Guidetti’s team, the Netherlands , was way faster and more dynamic than coach Pankov’s one, which permitted the Hollandaise wings to often beat the Russian middle blockers, who could not completely close the block.

Nevertheless, Russia demonstrated constant fierce, both on the net and on the back-row, with a fearless line of attack with bazookas instead of arms, and a very reactive defense.

Best scorer in the winning team was Lonneke Slöetjes with 21 points while Anne Buijs scored 19 and Celeste Plak 12. On the Russian side Anastasia Bavyikina scored 19 points and Daria Isaeva 15.
