Cuba – Argentina
In the Cuban capital of Havana, the home national team stepped towards win from the very start of the clash against the favourites, Argentina.
Beside a slight relaxation in the third set, which Argentine players instantly punished and a big fight in the most of the fourth set, Cuba won pretty easily by 3-1 (25-20, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21).
Cuban captain Rolando Cepeda had his night with 21 point followed by Osmany Uriarte (18).
On the other side, Pablo Crer had 15 while Nicolás Bruno added 10 points.
In the same pool, the home team of Canada and Bulgaria played an uncertain game in Summerside that ended with a five-set triumph from the visitors.
Canada – Bulgaria
Bulgaria collected its fourth success in a row while Canadians suffered second ceonsecutive defeat and again in a tie-break.
Danail Milushev led Bulgarian scorers with 17 points. Gavin Schmitt was Canada’s most efficient player with 15.
