The libero of Bulgarian national team and Zenit Kazan Teodor Salparov has considered chances of Bulgaria at the Olympic qualifying tournament.

“Honestly, we have very small chances to win the qualifying tournament. Russia, Poland and France are still stronger than us. We will try to reach the third place, which will bring us place at World Qualifying tournament. The current rules about the places at the Olympic tournament are not good. Why champions of Asia go directly to Olympic Games and the winners of Eurovolley not? On other continents, volleyball is much weaker, but they have the same and even better position. That’s wrong” said Salparov for business-gazeta.ru.

He is wrong. Champion of Asia doesn’t go directly to Olympic. Asia is the only continent with no chance of direct qualification by being the champion. And please be aware about what you say about Asia. This continent has definitely better teams than Africa…

I think the Olympics is about unity, and as such should provide every region with an equal chance of participants. Unlike the world championships, it is not about having all the top volleyball countries but rather an even diversity and range of teams for equality.

As TRTE stayed, champions of Asia wont qualify for Rio directly! And you should know A strong team like Iran Plays in Asia that can beat Bulgaria easily! Also teams like Australia plays in Asia that is in world league Group A not Group B like Bulgaria! Japan is in Asia that has won Olympic gold medal years ago! So silence!
