Supported by the home crowd in round 2 match of the second weekend played in Macau, China tied rivalry with Serbia in the competition as none of their encounters have even ended in straight sets 3-2 (27-25, 17-25, 20-25, 25-22, 15-9).
Surprisingly, Serbia’s head coach Zoran Terzić left Ognjenović, Bošković and Mihajlović on the bench while on the other side, Lang Ping was using 13 of 14 available players.
Serbia were on the right way to repeat yesterday’s stunt when they surprised Brazil, but China had unstoppable duo Zhu Ting – Yan Ni (16 and 14 points). So, even better performance of Serbia in blocking (14-9) was not enough for their win. Jovana Brakočević and Bianka Buša topped Serbia’s scorers with 21 and 19 points.
