JPN W: Legendary Kimura turns to beach volleyball after Rio Olympics?

One of the best ever volleyball players in Japan, Saori Kimura, might join beach volleyball.

Some Japanese media reported that soon-to-be 30 receiver is considering to switch from indoor volleyball to beach volleyball right after the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Kimura’s contract with Toray Arrows, a top flight team in Japan’s V-League, has expired a month ago and she, allegedly, already said farewell to club volleyball after V-League semifinal match against Hisamitsu Springs. Now, she wants to play only at the Rio Olympics before retiring from playing professionally.

In the past few years Kimura has been injury-prone so, that could be one of the reasons for her decision to withdraw.
