On the first day of the classification round, Korea defeated Sri Lanka 3-0(25-16,25-19,25-21), and Iran downed Chinese Taipei also 3-0(25-21,25-12,25-10) in Pool E. In Pool F, China swept India 3-0(25-16,25-20,25-19) and Japan beat Thailand 25-15,25-18,25-13.

Japan took only 60minute in defeating Thailand in straight sets. Hisahara Tsubasa and Takahasshi Kentaro paced the home side both with 10 points, Japan led Thailand in blocks (11-2) and spikers (36-27) and made only 15 errors while Thailand’s errors reached a total of 28.

Meanwhile, in the play off for ninth to 11th placing, Kazakhstan rallied back from the first two set deficit to clinch their first win by edging Turkmenistan in five sets (21-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-13, 15-9).
