Additional flavor was contributed by the fact that Noliko and Knack had swept all of their previous matches in the national league and hence the leadership in the standings was going to be at stake.
Knack ROESELARE caught an excellent start by seizing the first set 25-17 but Noliko responded promptly pocketing the second after a very close final rush (25-23). The home guys, supported by their always passionate fans, controlled the operations also in set 3 (25-18) before ROESELARE stormed back to call for the tie-break (25-22). The deciding set was packed with emotions, Noliko went ahead 13:11 but it was Knack that stood out in the final phases of the match going for a very much deserved 3:2 away win (16-14).
“We were not ready for this game as we had dissipated pretty much energy, also mentally, in the past few weeks” says head coach Brecht Van Kerckhove. “Knack tonight demonstrated that they have a good team and they will be tough opponents for this season’s honors”.
Hendrik Tuerlinckx stood out once more for Knack: “This is great and we are happy to have showed that Noliko can be beaten. The team played a great match, so this is a victory of our good collective” he said.
