The Olympic Week

The Olympic Week is organised by the Olympic Athletes Committee (CAO) with the collaboration of the Portuguese Olympic Committee (COP) and the School of Sports of the University of Porto (FADEUP), with the institutional support of the Portuguese Sports & Youth Institute (IPDJ).

Three-time Olympians João Brenha and Miguel Maia will also be participating in the Olympic Week.

At a press conference in November, Dr. Rui Campos Garcia of FADEUP said that it was “an immense honour to receive this event and this identity in our house.” The IPDJ was represented by Manuel Dias Barros, regional director for the north, who stressed the “importance of giving conditions for young people to have access to sports.”

The event will take place at the FADEUP’s facilities, where the participants will have the opportunity to practice a series of sports in addition to volleyball such as athletics, handball, boxing, canoeing, fencing, gymnastics, golf, hockey, judo, swimming, rugby, taekwondo, tennis, and table tennis.
