POL M: Reigning EuroVolley MVP Kovačević joins Aluron, reunites with Kolaković

Uroš Kovačević, the pillar of the Serbia Men’s Volleyball National Team, will play for Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in 2021/22.


The MVP of the last European Championship and one of the undoubted stars of the world volleyball, Kovačević, will compete in Polish PlusLiga for the first time in his career. Furthermore, a 28-year-old outside hitter and CEV Male Volleyball Player of the Year 2019, will reunite with coach Igor Kolaković after 7 years. The Montenegrin was the first to give the real opportunity to Kovačević in his senior career when the player was only 16 years old.

As for his achievements, Serbian star won the Slovenian Championship and Slovenian Cup twice each, MEVZA League once, Italian Cup once, CEV Challenge Cup once, FIVB Club World Championship once, CEV Cup once, and Chinese Championship once. Exactly, this latter title was the last in his career so far and he took it last season with Beijing from which he came to Aluron. With the Serbia National Team, he won 2 gold medals in the CEV European Championships (2011 and 2019) and one in the FIVB World League (2016).
