Konrad Piechocki, the president of Skra Belchatow, said: I’m sure we will be missing such a great player, but it was his decision and we respect that. We thank Winiar for everything he has done for PGE Skra and we wish him luck for the future seasons. As we speak, we are looking for another good player. Skra will keep on being the strong team.
Michal Winiarski has already two periods of experience with Belchatow. First, he has been playing there during the season 2005/2006. Then he went to Itas Diatec Trentino (2006-2009), where he was one of the most appreciated players. He won scudetto in 2008 and the Champions League in 2009. Then he moved back to Skra for another three years.
Now he leaves and will probably join Superleague. Fakiel Nowy Urengoj made a very lucrative offer to him and most likely he is going to accept it. He would work with another Polish player, Lukasz Zygadlo and a very good head coach – Ferdinando de Giorgi.
