After losing to Germany on Friday, Argentina beat Iran 3:2 (25-16, 18-25, 25-22, 20-25, and 17-15). Argentina changed gear after a close start to keep its lead up to the end of the first set but things turned around in the second where Iran displayed good service and reception to go for the 1:1. Argentina fought back in set 3 but Iran called for the tie-break where each rally was highly contested before the South Americans could celebrate their 3:2 win over the side mentored by Julio Velasco.
