Some fans, especially those in Japan, are angry with Bartosz Kurek for terminating a contract with JT Thunders Hiroshima even before playing a single official match in their jersey.

Unlike those fans, the fans of PGE Skra Bełchatów are rubbing their hands together because their club took advantage of this situation to hire one of the best opposite hitters in the world.

„Bartek’s (Bartosz Kurek) arrival to our club is, certainly, a nice surprise for many, the joy and satisfaction for others, and probably a shock for some. You need to take into account many aspects for this transfer. Certainly, I’m very happy that after the departure of Dražen Luburić, we were able to quickly find very valuable player to replace him. At the same time, I would immediately like to clarify that departure of the young Serb to Japan had nothing to do with releasing the place in the team for Bartek,“ Konrad Piechocki, the President of Skra, said.

“We already started the new season in PlusLiga, so our task as the Club Board was to provide comfort for the coaching staff and composition as soon as possible in order to allow the team to work in the best conditions. The team will train again at full strength, and most importantly, its value will surely not decrease. As the club, we did not get into the reasons why Bartek returned from Japan. A few days ago, I contacted Bartek and offered him the recovery in Bełchatów, both physically and mentally, especially because he repeatedly stressed that our club is special,” he added.
