After the season in which they won only one (Russian Cup) out of the projected 3 major trophies, both national and international, Zenit-Kazan decided to part ways with their pillar Bednorz. The Poland National Team member joined the Tatarstan giants in 2020 and played 75 matches since then: 45 in the Superliga, 15 in the Russian Cup, 8 in the CEV Cup, and 7 in the CEV Champions League. He helped Zenit win the Russian Super Cup 2020 and the Russian Cup 2021.

China’s Shanghai is mentioned as the next destination of Bednorz.
