Zaytsev
In an exclusive interview for sovsport.ru, among many themes Ivan Zaytsev talked about possibility to play for Russian national team as he already has passport of this country.
“Yes, I have Russian passport. In theory, I could change sports citizenship but in reality NO. I’m Italian, I’ve been playing for Italy, I grew up there. I have never thought about this option” says Zaytsev.
When you were young fellow, you had difficult task – to choose national team, Italy and Russia.
“When I was 14-year old I got a call to play for Russia. But, I was attending Italian school, my all friends were from Italy and I decided to stay there and to grow up in Italy. I’m Italian definitely” confirms Zaytsev.
But, what would you do if you get a call from the Russian volleyball federation?
“I’ll refuse it,” repeats once again one of the best volleyball players nowadays…
