Aleksey Spiridonov will miss two games of the 2017/18 Russian men’s volleyball championship Superliga play-out due to an unsporting behavior.

Enisey Krasnoyarsk outside hitter Spiridonov was excluded from Game 1 of the 2017/18 Superliga play-out against Dinamo-LO Leningardskaya Oblast, which his team won on the road by a 3-1, on March 18.

At 23-23 in the fourth set, „Spirik“ was blocked while making a back-row hit which made him furious. He kicked the coach’s chair which rolled over and broke the time-out buzzer. The first referee showed Spiridonov a yellow and red card together thereby, removed him until the end of the game.

The Directorate of the Russian Volleyball Federation (VFV) disqualified „Spirik“ for two Superliga matches and fined him 50 thousand rubles (700 euros). His club was penalized with the same amount of money.
