Igor Kolaković, head coach of Serbia: „I congratulate the host city of Novi Sad and I sincerely thank them for their exceptional support. I am very sorry that we are leaving Novi Sad and their fabulous spectators. We await the duel of Sunday as it is important for both Teams to win in order to qualify. We have to play with full concentration as the second match will be more difficult, knowing the concentration and the strength of the USA Team“.

Srećko Lisinac, Serbia’s blocker: „We did not expect such an easy win, but a greater resistance. We had great concentration with the help of the great audience in Novi Sad. This match is behind us and we have to create a new game and play better, hoping to qualify for the Finals in Florence“.

Sean Rooney, team captain of the USA: „This was a match important for both Teams, but also more interesting for the public. We failed to create the response from the beginning of the match and with the excellent service and reception of the Serbian Team, we weren’t able to win this match, especially mentally“.

USA player Matthew Anderson: “This was a very difficult environment for our team. Serbia played their best. We completely lacked on the counter-attack and that is definitely something we need to do, as we need to win to go to the Final Six. Sunday will be a big day for both teams. It will be difficult, but we have to have better execution next time.”
