Tori Dixon has the chance to become one of the youngest players ever to play for the US National Team at the Olympics, but after she torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament injury) while playing in Japanese Championship, that stunt might become elusive.

Nevertheless, Dixon will not give up on the goal to perform at Rio Olympics in August. At the moment, she is spending her days rehabbing on campus at the University of Minnesota. According to doctors’ prognosis, Dixon will not be able to start jumping and hitting until the middle of May. Since the US NT will be selected in late June, she will have a little over a month to show head coach Karch Kiraly she is 100 percent ready.

„Before (injury), I thought I had a chance. It’s now a pretty big question mark (on playing in Rio). I’m going to do everything I can to do it, but at the end of the day it’s out of my control… I can’t help but let my mind go there, it would be awesome. At the end of the day, I need to just get better as fast as I can,” said Dixon for „KARE 11“, NBC network affiliate for Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
