The matches are held in preparation for qualification to the World Cup for the west Asian zone. Qatar lines up alongside Bahrain and UAE in the same group.
The International Volleyball Federation approved a new system for the World Cup qualifiers in different continents; this system primarily serves the Asian continent where it’s divided into areas in West Asia, each consisting of three top teams, including first and second for the next phase.
The team will start the playoffs on June 5, competing alongside teams from Bahrain and United Arab Emirates.
