“We lost to Bulgaria due to two mistakes of our substitute players. We had 46 percent unsuccessful receptions. At the end we lost by making a net error and a successful serve by the rivals” Velasco said.
“My players were not good at receiving, defending against jumping and technical serves of the Bulgarian team. These are the main reasons of losing. Instead of moving their bodies in controlling their serves, my guys were trying to do this by the movements of their hands.”
About the similarity of the Bulgarian style with Russian, he further stated: “Bulgaria is to a large extent close in tactics to Russia but Russian’s serves are more accurate and make fewer errors.”
About predicting the result of the game between Iran and Russia in the World League Velasco said: “Just God knows what will happen. We didn’t play many games and World League can be regarded as our preparation for the Asian Championship” he concluded.
