Lausanne, Switzerland, March 13, 2012 – A total of 4,915 people became certified FIVB volleyball and beach volleyball coaches between 2002 and 2010 according to a new Coaches Courses and Technical Seminars Annual Report released by internationsl volleyball's governing body on Tuesday.

New report reveals increase in coaches

The report gives details of 253 courses which were organised in 114 countries across five continents with 70 per cent of these Level I, 28 per cent Level II and three per cent Level III.

Additionally, 107 Technical Seminars were held in the same period, with the Beach Get Involved initiative proving the most popular with 17 being held worldwide.

The FIVB Development Centres hosted a number of these Technical Seminars, while the continued collaboration with the Olympic Solidarity helped spread knowledge of the sport further.
