Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina made addition to their roster for the 2024-25 Superlega Credem Banca season by signing Serbian opposite Dusan Petkovic. Known for holding the record for most points in a single SuperLega season (590 in 2018-19), Petkovic brings extensive international experience, most recently playing for Kuzbass Kemerovo in Russia.
Despite a late start in their recruitment campaign compared to their competitors, Grottazzolina has successfully secured some thigh level international players. Petkovic began his career with Red Star Belgrade, where he won multiple national titles and cups. His stellar performance in Italy’s Superlega saw him scoring 508 points in his debut season with Sora, followed by a record-breaking 590 points the next year.
Petkovic’s journey includes stints with some top European clubs such as Skra Belchatov and Projekt Warszawa in Poland. His return to Italy with Padova in the 2022-23 season helped the team maintain their league position. Now, he joins Grottazzolina, aiming to lead them through 2025/26 season in one of the world’s toughest leagues. Petkovic is set to make a significant impact and help Yuasa Battery remain among Italy’s elite teams.
