After spending a season in a jersey of the Iranian team Shahrdari, Dirk Westphal has decided to sign a contract with a team from Germany.

It’s SWD Powervolleys Duren, a member of Bundesliga. The 31-year old outside hitter has signed a one-year deal.

His biggest success was winning the bronze medal with the German national team at the 2014 World Championship in Poland.

In 2016, Westphal announced retirement from the national team after 78 games in a jersey of Germany.  He is the last addition of the team for the season 2017/2018 season.
